The Department of Social Services (DSS), is overseen by the Maryland Department of Human Resources. DSS is the State’s primary social service provider. They can help families:

  • Pay for healthy food and energy bills
  • Access health insurance (except Medicare)
  • Who are concerned about abuse or neglect of a vulnerable older adult or person with disability
